Territorial Acknowledgement

Lindy Bout takes place in the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Jazz Acknowledgement

We would like to acknowledge that we come together each year at Lindy Bout to celebrate our love for African American vernacular jazz dance and music — two symbiotic and deeply interwoven art forms born out of the embodied experience of African Americans in the United States, with their roots deep in the musical and movement languages of West African slaves and their descendants.
